Disco Ball Pool Party (Disco Series: Part II)

Continuing the Disco Ball Series with Part II, set at (and in!) a rooftop pool during the most perfect golden hour. (If you missed Part 1: Disco Ball Glam Party be sure to check it out.)

As I previously mentioned, this was a dream shoot for me! I’ve wanted to do a holiday disco ball shoot. The wardrobe was a holiday cocktail attire - for this part of the shoot we went with a simple mini silk dress, to match with a more maximalist accessory: statement sparkle sunglasses and bold jewelry. With the golden hour light, the champagne toned dress paired beautifully.

This part of the series was all about motion and light. In low light, the motion gives a cinematic effect conveyed through the blur. We captured this motion moving through the water, throwing disco balls and splashing them in the water.

Shot in a rooftop pool in East Village San Diego during golden hour. This light floods the shots reflecting off of various surfaces, and textures: sparkly jewelry and sunglasses, silk dress, and - of course - disco balls!
